CVE-2021-42699Network attack vector

Account takeover via cleartext HTTP session cookies

Published Nov 5, 2021 · Updated Aug 4, 2024

Cleartext cookie transmission in AzeoTech DAQFactory 18.1 Build 2347 and earlier allows attackers to hijack user accounts over HTTP. The HTTP communication path sends the session cookie without transport encryption, exposing it as readable network traffic. The attacker must capture traffic for an authenticated user and can replay the recovered cookie to assume that user's session.
