Reflected XSS via unescaped baseUrl
Published Dec 21, 2022 · Updated Apr 14, 2025
Cross-site scripting in Hitachi Community Plugin Framework 9.5.0.0-80 allows remote attackers to run script in browsers via crafted baseUrl values. DependenciesPackage filter methods concatenate baseUrl into generated script and link HTML attributes without encoding, allowing attribute breaking and script injection. Exploitation requires a reachable Pentaho CTools path that passes attacker-controlled data and a victim browser rendering the response; the documented impact is client-side integrity and limited confidentiality compromise, not service interruption.
