Account access via unrestricted login attempts
Published Nov 30, 2021 · Updated Aug 4, 2024
Missing rate limiting in the TopEase login form through 7.1.27 allows remote attackers to make repeated authentication attempts. The login form accepts successive password submissions without restricting their frequency, enabling password guessing against a known account. Unauthenticated network access to the form is sufficient, and a successful guess grants the compromised account's privileges.
