Administrator browser script execution via unescaped order search
Published Nov 19, 2021 · Updated Feb 14, 2025
Reflected XSS in Preview E-mails for WooCommerce 1.6.8 and earlier allows remote attackers to execute scripts via an order search. In views/form.php, the search_order value is echoed into an option element twice without input sanitization or output escaping. Exploitation requires an administrator to follow an attacker-controlled link; the script can act with the browser session, including creating an administrative account.
