Stored XSS via unauthorized block import
Published Nov 17, 2021 · Updated Feb 14, 2025
Stored XSS in Starter Templates 2.7.0 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to overwrite Elementor pages via an AJAX block import. The astra-page-elementor-batch-process action accepts a remotely hosted block URL and post ID for users with edit_posts, allowing crafted JavaScript to persist in imported content. Sites must also have Elementor installed, and visitors viewing overwritten pages execute the injected script, enabling page tampering or session hijacking.
