CVE-2021-42357Network attack vector

Unauthenticated redirect via improper URL parsing

Published Jan 17, 2022 · Updated Aug 4, 2024

Cross-site scripting in Apache Knox SSO before 1.6.1 allows remote attackers to redirect users to an attacker-controlled page via a crafted request parameter. Knox SSO improperly parses that parameter when constructing the redirect destination, allowing a malicious URL to pass through the redirect flow. Exploitation requires the victim to follow a link delivered through phishing or another XSS path; the reported consequence is redirection and potential script execution in the user’s browser.
