SQL injection in the sync endpoint in Microsoft Defender for IoT before 10.5.2 allows remote attackers to execute code as root. The endpoint uses a user-supplied string to construct SQL queries without proper validation, enabling an authentication bypass. No authentication or user interaction is required, and successful exploitation grants complete control of the sensor appliance.
