Unspecified impact via weak email verification hash
Published Dec 15, 2021 · Updated Jul 9, 2026
Weak cryptography in VerificationController.php in AnonAddy 0.8.5 allows attackers to cause unspecified impact via email-verification requests. The verify method compares the request's hash route value with a SHA-1 digest of the selected user's or recipient's email address. Signed-route middleware also gates the endpoint, and published sources demonstrate neither a verification bypass nor a concrete consequence.
