Cross-site scripting via unsafe component rendering
Published Oct 11, 2021 · Updated Aug 4, 2024
Cross-site scripting in django-unicorn before 0.36.1 allows remote attackers to execute script through a crafted component response. The response renderer marked the complete rendered template safe without applying Beautiful Soup HTML entity substitution to component-controlled content. A victim must interact with the affected component; successful exploitation runs attacker-controlled script in the victim's browser context.
