Administrator privilege escalation via improper page authentication
Published Dec 7, 2021 · Updated Aug 4, 2024
Improper authorization in Ivanti Avalanche before 6.3.3 allows remote authenticated users to gain administrative privileges. The userManagement.jsf page improperly authenticates access to user-management operations, allowing a logged-in user to elevate an account to administrator. Access to the network-reachable Inforail Service and valid authentication are required, and successful exploitation grants control at the Avalanche administrator level.
