SYSTEM code execution via pipe client impersonation
Published Oct 21, 2021 · Updated Aug 4, 2024
Privilege escalation in Trend Micro Apex One 2019 and Worry-Free Business Security 10.0 SP1 and Services allows local users to run code as SYSTEM. The Security Agent permits an untrusted process to impersonate the client of a pipe, transferring the agent's elevated execution context. Low-privileged code execution on an affected Windows host is required; successful exploitation grants arbitrary code execution as SYSTEM.
