Administrator command execution via unsanitized storage metadata
Published Jul 10, 2023 · Updated Sep 22, 2025
OS command injection in OSNEXUS QuantaStor before 6.0.0.355 allows remote authenticated users to execute shell commands through its API. The storageSystemModify endpoint fails to neutralize shell metacharacters in newDescription, newDnsServerList, and newNTPServerList. Administrator privileges are required, and exploitation grants command execution with the API service's permissions.
