Authenticated file-content manipulation via unchecked client actions
Published Nov 9, 2021 · Updated Aug 4, 2024
Incorrect authorization in Siemens Mendix 8 before 8.18.13 and Mendix 9 before 9.6.2 allows remote authenticated users to alter file contents. Certain client actions write System.FileDocument content without enforcing the application's configured write access. A valid application account and a reachable affected action are required; exploitation changes stored file data but does not disclose data or interrupt service.
