Browser script execution via unencoded reflected parameter
Published Nov 15, 2021 · Updated Aug 4, 2024
Reflected XSS in ResourceSpace before 9.6 rev 18290 allows remote attackers to run JavaScript in a victim's browser via a crafted URL. The WordPress SSO plugin's plugins/wordpress_sso/pages/index.php echoes the wordpress_user parameter into the response without output encoding. Exploitation requires a ResourceSpace user to follow the attacker-supplied link; script execution remains within the victim's browser context.
