Stored script execution via unsanitized client names
Published Oct 8, 2021 · Updated Aug 4, 2024
Stored cross-site scripting in webTareas 2.4 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to execute scripts in users' browsers via client names. The /clients/editclient.php handler stores the cn POST parameter as a client name without correctly sanitizing embedded HTML or JavaScript. A valid session with client add or edit privileges is required; the payload runs when platform users or administrators view the client page, enabling cookie theft and page modification.
