IMEI disclosure via globally readable system properties
Published Mar 11, 2022 · Updated Aug 4, 2024
Information disclosure in Luna Simo PPR1.180610.011/202001031830 allows local users to read three IMEI values via getprop. The com.skyroam.silverhelper.MyApplication.initProperty method copies the identifiers into sys.skyroam.silver.sim1 through sim3 properties without access controls. Any co-located third-party app, including one with no granted permissions, can retrieve the persistent device identifiers after system startup.
