Stored XSS via unrestricted HTML message markup
Published Dec 28, 2021 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Stored XSS in LiveHelperChat Live Helper Chat before 3.91 allows remote authenticated users to execute script through crafted messages. The lhchat and REST addmsgadmin paths stored [html] BBCode and meta_msg data without checking the corresponding operator permissions. A low-privileged operator or REST account must submit the message and another operator must view it, exposing that operator session to script-driven actions.
