Arbitrary code execution via Field OnFocus use-after-free
Published Aug 29, 2022 · Updated Aug 4, 2024
Use-after-free in Foxit PDF Reader and Editor before 11.1 and PhantomPDF before 10.1.6 allows attackers to execute code via a crafted PDF. The Field OnFocus event path mishandles a JavaScript Field object's lifetime and accesses the object after its memory has been released. Exploitation requires a user to open the crafted document, after which code executes in the affected application's security context.
