Code execution via JavaScript use-after-free
Published Aug 29, 2022 · Updated Aug 4, 2024
Use-after-free in Foxit PDF Reader and Editor before 11.1 and PhantomPDF before 10.1.6 allows attackers to execute code via a crafted PDF. JavaScript processing accesses memory, a pointer, or an object after it has been freed without validating its lifetime. A victim must open the crafted document; successful exploitation runs code with the application's privileges, while failed attempts can crash it.
