CVE-2021-41769Network attack vector

Unauthenticated device-information disclosure via improper input validation

Published Jan 11, 2022 · Updated Aug 4, 2024

Improper input validation in the SIPROTEC 5 web server before 8.83 allows remote attackers to read device information without authentication. Siemens identifies the web server as the locus but has not disclosed which request field is insufficiently validated or how validation fails. Network reachability to the device web server is sufficient; the documented consequence is read-only disclosure of device information.
