Published Oct 29, 2021 · Updated Aug 4, 2024
Unrestricted file upload in Sourcecodester Budget and Expense Tracker System 1.0 allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary code. The update_settings action in classes/SystemSettings.php accepts an img multipart upload without rejecting executable PHP content and stores it beneath the web-accessible uploads path. No authentication is required, and requesting the uploaded PHP file executes commands in the hosting web server's security context.
