Arbitrary file read via unchecked CWD path
Published Jun 24, 2022 · Updated Aug 4, 2024
Path traversal in MELAG FTP Server 2.2.0.4 allows remote authenticated users to read host files via crafted CWD paths. The ChangeDir handler passes the CWD subpath without checking that the resolved location remains beneath the account's FTP root. A valid active FTP account is required, and readable data is limited by the operating-system privileges of the server process.
