Administrator-level host command execution via JVM startup options
Published Oct 27, 2021 · Updated Aug 4, 2024
Code injection in Gradle Enterprise before 2021.1.2 allows remote authenticated users to execute host commands via the administrative interface. The installation configuration interface accepts arbitrary JVM startup options, including -XX:OnOutOfMemoryError, without blocking command-bearing flags. Administrative application access is required, and successful abuse runs arbitrary commands on the Gradle Enterprise host.
