Authenticated function access via empty permission parameters
Published Mar 29, 2022 · Updated Aug 4, 2024
Authorization bypass in RSA Archer 6.9 SP1 P3 allows remote authenticated users to access administrator-precluded application functions. The /api/V2/internal/TaskPermissions/CheckTaskAccess endpoint treats requests whose parameters are replaced with empty fields as authorized instead of preserving configured task restrictions. A valid low-privilege session and the ability to alter the API request are required; the documented consequence is access to restricted functions, not administrative control.
