CVE-2021-41538

Information disclosure via uninitialized OBJ pointer

Published Sep 28, 2021 · Updated Aug 4, 2024

Uninitialized-pointer disclosure in Siemens NX and Solid Edge SE2021 allows attackers to read process memory through a crafted OBJ file. The OBJ parser accesses a pointer without properly initializing it, exposing data from unexpected memory locations. The target must open the file; affected releases are NX 1953 Series before 1973.3700, NX 1980 Series before 1988, and Solid Edge SE2021 before SE2021MP8.
