Code execution via freed OBJ parser object
Published Sep 28, 2021 · Updated Aug 4, 2024
Use-after-free in OBJ parsing in Siemens Solid Edge before SE2021MP8 allows attackers to execute code through a malicious file. The parser performs operations on an object without first validating that the object still exists after its lifetime ends. Exploitation requires the target to visit a malicious page or open a malicious OBJ file, and code runs in the current process.
