Unauthenticated arbitrary SQL execution via raw login parameters
Published Jan 24, 2022 · Updated Aug 4, 2024
SQL injection in Sourcecodester Simple Membership System 1 allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary SQL through login parameters. The validate.php handler inserts POST username and password values directly into a SELECT query against the admin table without escaping or parameterization. The public login requires no authentication, and a crafted request can bypass credentials to create an administrator session or execute SQL with the application's database privileges.
