Stored JavaScript execution via unneutralized blog content
Published Jun 22, 2022 · Updated Aug 4, 2024
Stored XSS in FlatPress 1.2.1 allows remote authenticated users to execute JavaScript in visitors' browsers through saved blog content. The entry editor accepts a script element in the content field, saves it, and renders it unneutralized on both the saved-entry view and home page. Administrative-area access is required to plant the payload, and execution requires another user to view the affected entry.
