Administrative takeover via unauthenticated password reset
Published Sep 21, 2021 · Updated Aug 4, 2024
Improper access control in Plastic SCM before 10.0.16.5622 allows remote attackers to take over WebAdmin by setting its administrative password. The WebAdmin password-setting workflow accepts an unauthenticated request and replaces the administrative password without validating an existing administrator session. No prior privileges or user interaction are required; successful exploitation grants control of the server-management interface without reported data disclosure or service interruption.
