Authenticated file overwrite via compress format traversal
Published Sep 30, 2021 · Updated Aug 4, 2024
Path traversal in the Compress feature in Pydio Cells 2.2.9 allows remote authenticated users to overwrite other users' files. The compress job accepts a path-bearing format value and uses it to select the archive output path without constraining traversal outside the caller's storage. Any authenticated account can send a crafted PUT request that replaces guessed files in another user's personal area or an unshared Cell.
