Authenticated configuration tampering via missing authorization
Published Nov 1, 2021 · Updated Oct 8, 2024
Improper authorization in Atlassian Jira Server and Data Center before 8.20.7 allows remote authenticated users to edit email batch settings. The /secure/admin/ConfigureBatching!default.jspa endpoint accepts configuration changes without enforcing the administrator authorization required for that operation. Any non-admin account with network access to Jira can alter email batching behavior, affecting configuration integrity without reported data disclosure or service interruption.
