Local file inclusion in Metabase 0.40.0 through 0.40.4 and 1.40.0 through 1.40.4 allows remote attackers to read server files. The unauthenticated GET /api/geojson handler decoded its url parameter and passed file locations to io/reader without rejecting the scheme or requiring superuser access. Any network client that can reach the endpoint can return files readable by the Metabase process, including configuration secrets and environment data.

What happened

Local file inclusion in Metabase 0.40.0 through 0.40.4 and 1.40.0 through 1.40.4 allows remote attackers to read server files.
