CVE-2021-41275Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Account takeover via pre-forgery user loading

Published Nov 17, 2021 · Updated Aug 4, 2024

CSRF in Spree Auth Devise before 4.0.1 and 4.1.0, 4.2.0, and 4.3.0 through 4.4.0 allows remote attackers to take over accounts. Spree::UsersController loads the session user before forgery protection clears the session, then update applies attacker-controlled parameters to that cached object. Exploitation requires a logged-in victim to submit the forged request while null_session or reset_session protection runs after load_object.
