Unauthenticated console access via external IDP bypass
Published Nov 15, 2021 · Updated Aug 4, 2024
Authentication bypass in MinIO Console before 0.12.3 allows remote attackers to access console functions via external IDP authentication. When external IDP authentication is enabled, the Operator Console fails to enforce authentication and lets unauthenticated requests reach administrative functions. Exploitation requires the external identity provider integration; successful access can expose or alter console-managed resources, while no in-the-wild exploitation was reported.
