CVE-2021-41238Network attack vector

Unauthenticated dashboard access via empty default filters

Published Nov 2, 2021 · Updated Aug 4, 2024

Missing authorization in Hangfire.Core 1.7.25 allows remote attackers to view the Dashboard UI through its default configuration. The DashboardOptions constructor initializes Authorization with no filters, so UseHangfireDashboard accepts remote requests instead of applying LocalRequestsOnlyAuthorizationFilter. Exposure requires the default Authorization value; any custom authorization filter avoids the condition, while successful access discloses sensitive dashboard data.
