Administrator code execution via traversal file writes
Published Jan 27, 2023 · Updated Mar 10, 2025
Path traversal in OpenMage LTS before 19.4.22 and 20.0.0 through 20.0.18 allows remote authenticated users to execute code. The DataFlow convert profile passes attacker-controlled path and filename values to catalog media and Varien file-write methods without rejecting null bytes or parent-directory segments. Exploitation requires an administrator account with both DataFlow file-upload and product-creation permissions and can write executable content outside the intended location.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
