Script execution via HTML-interpreted altField value
Published Oct 26, 2021 · Updated Feb 13, 2025
Cross-site scripting in the jQuery UI Datepicker before 1.13.0 allows remote attackers to execute script via an untrusted altField option. The _updateAlternate method passes altField to the jQuery constructor, which treats HTML-like input as markup and creates an element whose event handler runs. Exploitation requires an application to accept attacker-controlled option data and a user to interact with affected content; script runs in the page context.
