CVE-2021-41180Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Open redirect via unvalidated geolocation object ID

Published Mar 8, 2022 · Updated Apr 22, 2025

Open redirect in Nextcloud Talk before 12.1.2 allows remote attackers to send Android users to an arbitrary site via a geolocation preview. The shareObjectToChat path and SystemMessage parser accept a geo-location object's ID as a link without checking that it matches geographic-coordinate syntax. Exploitation requires an Android Talk client user to interact with the crafted preview; the bounded result is navigation to an attacker-chosen site.
