CVE-2021-41176Network attack vector

Forced logout via CSRF-unprotected GET endpoint

Published Oct 25, 2021 · Updated Aug 4, 2024

Cross-site request forgery in Pterodactyl Panel 1.0.0 through 1.6.2 allows remote attackers to terminate a signed-in user's session. The /auth/logout route accepts an authenticated GET request without CSRF middleware, so a cross-origin request invokes LoginController@logout with the victim's session cookie. Exploitation requires the signed-in user to visit an attacker-controlled page targeting the specific Panel instance; it only logs the user out and does not expose or modify user data.
