Arbitrary JavaScript execution via AngularJS URL interpolation
Published Nov 3, 2021 · Updated Aug 4, 2024
Cross-site scripting in Grafana 8.0.0 through 8.2.2 lets remote attackers execute JavaScript in an unauthenticated victim browser via a crafted URL. The login-page redirect preserves attacker-controlled URL text, and AngularJS interpolation evaluates expressions such as double-curly-brace constructor calls instead of treating them as data. Exploitation requires convincing an unauthenticated user to follow the link to a page showing the login button; script runs in that browser context.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
