Spreadsheet formula execution via unescaped CSV fields
Published Oct 6, 2021 · Updated Aug 4, 2024
CSV injection in JOSHMARTIN GmbH Hygeia exports before 1.30.4 allows remote authenticated users to execute spreadsheet formulas. The BAG MED and statistics export paths pass user-supplied field values to CSV.encode without formula escaping, preserving formula syntax in generated CSV cells. Execution requires another user to export the stored data and open the CSV file in a formula-capable editor such as Excel, where the formula runs in that user's desktop context.
