Path traversal in Rasa before 2.8.10 allows remote authenticated users to overwrite bot files by uploading a crafted model archive. Model-loading code passes attacker-controlled tar member paths to extractall, allowing parent-directory sequences to escape the intended destination; the fix replaces those calls with TarSafe extraction. Exploitation requires access to supply an untrusted model through the CLI or an enabled API endpoint, and writes are bounded by the Rasa process's filesystem access.
