External resource retrieval via unrestricted TransformerFactory
Published Jul 7, 2022 · Updated Aug 4, 2024
XXE in Eclipse Lyo 1.0.0 through 4.1.0 allows attackers to trigger external DTD retrieval through crafted RDF/XML input. JenaModelHelper.createTransformer initializes TransformerFactory with defaults that permit external DTD and stylesheet access. Reachability requires a consuming application to pass untrusted RDF/XML to the provider; authentication is deployment-specific, and the bounded effect is server-side external resource retrieval.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
Is a vulnerable build present?
Compare these published version ranges with your installed build and any vendor patches.
