Code execution via intercepted HTTP repository metadata

Man-in-the-middle flaw in Eclipse Equinox p2 through 4.21 allows attackers to alter installations via HTTP update repositories. The p2 client accepts repository metadata over unencrypted HTTP, enabling an on-path attacker to replace metadata, redirect artifact retrieval, and provide matching attacker-controlled checksums. Exploitation requires an installation or update from an HTTP p2 repository and control of its network path; injected plug-ins then execute code in the affected application.
