Unauthenticated httpsd hang via oversized HTTP packets
Published Dec 8, 2021 · Updated Oct 25, 2024
Uncontrolled resource consumption in Fortinet FortiWeb 6.4.1 and earlier allows remote attackers to hang the httpsd daemon with huge HTTP packets. The daemon processes attacker-supplied oversized HTTP traffic until an undisclosed resource is exhausted and HTTPS handling stops responding. No authentication or user interaction is required, and the documented consequence is limited to service interruption rather than data access or code execution.
