CVE-2021-40964Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Arbitrary file write via unsanitized upload path

Published Sep 15, 2021 · Updated Aug 4, 2024

Path traversal in Tiny File Manager 2.4.6 and earlier allows attackers to write uploaded files outside the configured working directory. The upload handler accepts ../ or ..\ sequences in fullpath and uses the resulting path without confining it to the intended directory. Exploitation requires administrator credentials or successful CSRF against an administrator; a web-accessible destination turns the write into PHP code execution.
