Reflected XSS via unencoded showtagfiles output
Published Oct 1, 2021 · Updated Aug 4, 2024
Reflected XSS in getID3 1.9.20 and earlier and 2.0.0-beta allows remote attackers to execute script via the showtagfiles parameter. The demos/demo.mysqli.php encoder-options view echoes the showtagfiles request value into HTML without output encoding. Exploitation requires persuading a user to open a crafted URL, after which the script runs in the demo page's origin and can read or alter browser-visible data.
