Arbitrary file disclosure via fileName path traversal
Published Dec 13, 2021 · Updated Aug 4, 2024
Path traversal in Auerswald COMpact 5500R before 8.2B allows remote authenticated users to read arbitrary files through its web interface. The wartemusik_verwaltung_play and logo_verwaltung_preview handlers retrieve files named by fileName without blocking ../ traversal. A sub-admin session is required; reading /data/db/pbx4.db exposes the cleartext Admin password and enables higher-privileged login.
