Application crash via crafted-file null dereference
Published Mar 16, 2022 · Updated Apr 23, 2025
NULL pointer dereference in Adobe Media Encoder 15.4.1 and earlier allows attackers to crash the application via a crafted media file. The file parser dereferences a null pointer while processing malformed file data, but Adobe has not disclosed the responsible format, function, or field. A victim must open the malicious file; successful exploitation terminates Media Encoder in the current user's context without reported data access or code execution.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
