Unauthenticated account takeover via unchecked social login
Published Dec 14, 2021 · Updated Feb 14, 2025
Authentication bypass in EventPrime Events RegistrationMagic 5.0.1.7 and earlier allows remote attackers to assume any existing account. The social_login_using_email() AJAX handler trusts a submitted email after checking only a page-exposed nonce, then calls wp_set_auth_cookie(). A published RegistrationMagic login form and a known valid username or email are required; an administrator identity grants site control.
